Martha Cargo

5New York City-based flutist Martha Cargo has performed at a diverse mix of venues, from Cleveland’s Severance Hall to the downtown New York City jazz haunt Local 269, to the Aldrich Estate at Rokeby in the Hudson Valley, and to the intimate WMP Concert Hall in midtown Manhattan. Her artistic interests range from experimental theater to improvised music in the context of modern dance, to early music-infused free jazz. Cargo has performed works by Zosha Di Castri, Beavan Flanagan, Ellen O’Meara, Anne Goldberg, Alex Burtzos and Travis Reuter, premiering six works over the last two years.

Currently in her final year of the Contemporary Performance Program at Manhattan School of Music, Cargo is committed to the integration of experimental music into various media, be it contemporary art, theater or dance.
