Bert Hill is fresh face on New York City’s freelance scene. A versatile musician who is comfortable playing many styles of music, Hill is quickly making his presence known. He has recently been heard in performances with Westchester Chamber Symphony, Leora Chamber Ensemble, The Chelsea Symphony, Ensemble Moto Perpetuo and Tactus Ensemble, among others. A concerto competition winner, Hill made his solo debut in July 2011 performing Reinhold Gliere’s “Horn Concerto Op. 91” with the Sewanee Summer Music Festival Orchestra. In 2011 Hill was on the faculty at the Rodney Mack Big Brass Seminar hosted at the Curtis School of Music. Hill holds a bachelor of science in music from Indiana State University and a master of music in horn performance from Temple University. His principal teachers include Shelly Showers and Brian Kilp.
Hill can be heard on the recent recording “Journey to Journey” featuring the compositions of Miho Hazama, which was released under Universal Music Japan and throughout North America and Europe on Sunnyside Records.
